I'm sure you all already know Cassandra Bankson, the youtuber who posts on DiamondsAndHeels14. She became known around the world after her video showing her covering up acne with makeup went viral on the internet. If you haven't seen it yet, find it below.
Well, this morning I came across one article in which Cassandra talks about how makeup helps her reveal herself to the people she meets exactly as she really is and not how the severe acne she suffers from looks like. More than three years have passed since that video was made on YT, during which time her skin problems have improved but not disappeared. Now she is a gorgeous model, but you will see for yourself in this clip, which can show its true beauty only with the help of makeup.

Then I saw the video of Cheri, another young and beautiful woman, but suffering from a more severe form of vitiligo.
If there are times when I forget why I love makeup, such confessions remind me instantly. Perfection does not exist, and beauty is relative. I've said it before here.

Ioana, I am very happy with your blog posting of these confessions! Even if they are so easy to find on you tube, not many of us would post them on their blog or personal page, because we have somehow become absorbed in the perfection of photoshop and the preconceived image that the media spreads. For me, these * confessions * are a huge source of inspiration and education. To love and love ourselves as we are, and to know the true face of the reality that surrounds us as it is.
