Being a freelancer does not always mean working in the fancy cafes located in the city center, eating instagramable brunch and constantly seeing your famous colleagues online for brainstorming sessions or just for an insta story. For me, being a freelancer means waking up as early as possible to have time to prepare a healthy breakfast and to have time to drink a quiet coffee or tea until I get into the creative state that helps me write. Most of the time I am a little pressed for time because I still have enough at the gym, at aqua biking, at a photo session or at a meeting. And so, imperceptibly, my day that promises to be glam and relaxed enters an alert rhythm that makes me look at everything in a more practical way.
It is no longer a secret that I live in the Drumul Taberei neighborhood. Here I go to the gym, to the hairdresser, I go for a run in Moghioroș Park opposite the Drumul Taberelor shopping center where I go shopping, at the bank, I work in the Starbucks cafe (until it becomes crowded with high school students) and I choose to move to the food court where they serve a healthy and quick lunch. Quick is my favorite word on the days when even if I would rather cook a fresh salmon in the oven, I still have to satisfy my hunger quickly. If I had a gym, my life would certainly be much easier because I could work, exercise, do administrative tasks, shop and eat in the same place, saving a lot of precious time.
The good part is that the Drumul Taberelor shopping center has developed very nicely over the last year and has become a much friendlier place, where I enjoy spending more and more time. Now things have become even more beautiful because a was inaugurated Cartier Hub, ie a specially designed space where entrepreneurs can come to work in an organized environment according to their needs. This is the first community hub in Romania located in a private shopping center, and is available to residents of the Drumul Taberei neighborhood a multifunctional room for events, one dedicated to courses, one for meetings, a coworking space and one for relaxation. I have already seen them and they are very well equipped.
The total investment amounted to 120,000 euros, and the space of 317 square meters is made available to the community in the neighborhood to meet the needs and expectations of the people. The role Cartier Hub is that of catalyst of urban life of the neighborhood, by bringing together various social and cooperation groups, in order to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood. Anyone can use the space if they want to support non-profit activities. At the same time, educational and personal development workshops will be organized here, for children, adults and seniors, civic education courses, art, recycling, etc.
Cartier Hub is a good solution for entrepreneurs and freelancers who need a place to work, hold meetings or participate in workshops.
Also, educational and personal development workshops are regularly organized here, for children, adults and seniors held by organizations such as ROBOTescu, Eematico, Ruxandra ballet studio, Little Chess, Banometer, Little Stars, Origamic, for which participants pay a fee. In addition, a series of free activities will be held, aligned with the hub's strategy, including courses in civic education, retraining, and the development of artistic sense. And people in the community can use the Cartier Hub space for free if they want to support non-profit activities.
Conference room in the hub of Camp Road can be used free of charge for civic initiative group meetings and community evenings. For the coworking space in Cartier Hub, a rent is charged as follows: five lei per hour (if you stay more than five hours, after the fifth you do not pay extra), 30 lei per day, 250 lei for 10 days, 400 lei for 20 days and 600 lei per month.
In addition, a children's playground is arranged right next to the hub, so entrepreneurs with young children are also welcome.
