First of all, I do not agree with the expressions "positive review" or "negative review". There is no such thing. Review is a review / analysis, and by definition means that you bring criticism (which may or may not be good) about a particular product / topic / service. You can't be objective when writing a review because you go through your own filter, but you can try to do a thorough analysis based not only on your own analysis, but also on other opinions. How can you find out other opinions? You can ask other people what their opinion is on the subject, or you can read what others have written before.
When I write a review I need more time. I need time to test the product on myself (and others if I have the opportunity), I need time to get to know the product and understand the formula or the technology and research behind it, and I need time to document. And by documentation I mean to read all the official information, but also the reviews that have been written about the product. Why do I read other reviews? Because it can happen that I notice things that I don't consider important but that need to be mentioned, and because I want to cover issues that have not been brought up by other people. It happens that I can write a review in four hours, but there are also topics for which I need several days for documentation. Even though my reviews are long, I would rather write an exhaustive article (at least in my view) that can give the reader all the information they need to make an informed decision, rather than superficially deal with a topic. And precisely because I respect the reader's time a lot, I created one myself review structure which is easy to follow and which allows him to read only the parts that interest him. And I always emphasize the good parts, but also the bad parts (if any).
And then, if I spend a lot of time writing a review about a product or service, why channel my attention and energy to a topic that doesn't deserve that attention? In addition, I don't test a lot of products that I don't like. I realize pretty quickly whether or not it's worth using. Think that any product I don't write about is replaced by a much nicer product that I'm worth writing about. Especially since everything is subjective, just like I said at the beginning: maybe I don't like it, but there are many other people who appreciate it.
In short, this is the main reason why I do not write reviews in a negative register. My way of criticizing is a peaceful one: I don't pay attention to you and you don't appear on my blog. Besides, I'm not looking for scandal. The blog is a beautiful place to go to relax and inform yourself.

Every time I read "this blogger or on blog X there are only favorable reviews, and this thing does not inspire confidence", I am sad!
I think I will write something on this topic soon! Thanks for the encouragement and the idea! : *
That's how I want you! I can't wait to read your article: *
How beautiful you wrote! And how nice you argued 🙂 It seems like the article ended faster than I wanted ... From time to time I also express my disappointment with the products, especially if the expectations were high. But, most of the time, it happens because I don't like the product, not necessarily because it wouldn't be a good one.
There is much more to say, but I don't think it would be interesting for readers either. Know that on our blogs we should feel free to write what we want. Of course, respecting those around us. Kiss you thank you for commenting: *
Totally agree. I would complete it with something else, with some insides from the world of communication. I'm glad you addressed this topic!
Oliv, your additions would be wonderful! Know that I will bother you to write them 😀
Exactly, very well worded. Maybe, instead of being suspected of lying, we should consider the fact that we inform ourselves before we buy something, we have fewer failures and maybe our intuition can help us to choose what suits us.
Exact! It really doesn't happen to me to waste money on products.
I mean if you do a negative review are you looking for scandal? Is that your perception?
I told you that for me there is no negative or positive review, only a review. No matter how it is written. I said that I don't make the blog a tool to get rid of brands or products.
I don't like to write "negative" reviews either, but if I receive a product and I have to write about it because that's how the agreement was and I don't like it, then I'm honest with my readers. Indeed, discussions arose later but it was not an agreement from the beginning, to write only well. I wouldn't even accept that.
That was some time ago, now I know how to put the problem and what to ask right away so as not to "disturb" my collaborators.
And I felt that the posting ended abruptly, there was a lot to say but you will probably come back with additions when necessary. I noticed that you also put posts like "tips and tricks" and I think they are my favorites.
There were a few more things to say, but they were only interesting for bloggers so I stopped. Everyone chooses to write what they want on their blog, I just told how I do mine. I do not claim that this is good. It's as good as you want it to be.
If something really disappoints me, I express my indignation, I still agree that if it doesn't do me any good, it doesn't necessarily have to hurt another person!
Totally agree! You know best how to approach topics on your blog 😀
Hmm…. I honestly don't agree with what you wrote, although I respect your opinion. After all, everyone writes on the blog what they want.
But I prefer to write on the blog about the products I didn't like. Because my readers deserve to know about the products I didn't like. For example, maybe 10 readers have oily skin like mine. And I write about the X cream because it made my skin even fatter. Therefore, I exempt them from giving money for a product that is not good.
A man who follows you is interested in the products you use… whether you liked them or not. They just want to read your opinion. And I don't think it's the end of the world to write about a product that I didn't like or didn't like.
After all, you don't put your brand or product on the wall, but you review it, but the product didn't suit you.
After all, this is the essence of a blogger who writes reviews: to write about products. It is not fair to delimit the products that you liked and that you did not.
And I don't consider that you make a scandal if you write about a product that didn't suit you / you didn't like it :).
It's just my opinion and part of the blogger concept 🙂
Exactly, everyone does what they want on their own blog. I just wanted to offer an explanation for the fact that I don't write about products I don't like. And I think I made solid arguments. Success!
I agree and disagree with you. For example, I like (even if it sounds weird "I like") to read reviews that are not 100% positive. It often helps me when I want to buy something.
And I don't think it's about criticism, but rather about expressing your opinion, be it good or bad, about a certain product.
Yes, this is the best way: to turn a product on all sides and to mention both the strengths and the weaknesses. That is the most correct.
An interesting article written from a perspective I never thought of. It is interesting that you also analyze the aspects behind the product, formulas, concept, etc.… things that only those who understand them talk about.
Yo always specify that the conclusions written in the review are strictly related to my person, taking care to specify what characterizes me (skin type, routines, etc.). And I think that's an issue that needs to be clarified everywhere. A product may have different results from one person to another.
As an amateur ... a review is written differently. As a professional, you take a different approach to the subject. And the target you are targeting also matters a lot.
Congratulations on the article. It deserves more development.
Yes, it can grow. But this article was meant for my readers in particular, even though I also offered some tips for bloggers.
Ioana, you wrote very nicely and I totally agree with you. Why would I buy and test a product that I know doesn't suit me? Just to present it in a negative light? In addition, there is money spent in vain.
Well done again, I really like this article. Kiss you.
I think it is more useful for readers to read what is worth buying, not what to avoid. I mean, I go to the store and start thinking, 'This isn't good, neither this, nor this, then who's going to be good'? Isn't it easier to go and think "I want this product"? I don't have many bad products either, precisely because I inform myself beforehand, I don't feel like giving money for nonsense. And most of the products I write about are bought with my money. As for the bad products (or the ones I don't like), I prefer not to use them, I go immediately and buy something else that suits me.
By and large, I share your opinion: I rarely suffer from not liking anything about a product (and then having a mostly negative review), I mention that there is a mismatch between my skin and the formula (or, if I suspect it's due to a dubious ingredient from the formula, I also mention this, maybe my skin is more sensitive and reacts, and someone else's is not). I completely write a review for products that I have used and I have positive aspects, and possibly negative ones, and when something didn't suit me and I couldn't find its strengths, I write another article with disappointments - so information can help someone avoid possible disappointment.
I also like to read about products that don't work. Obviously, the reader must understand that the opinion of the blogger and the fact that what works for others does not work for him and vice versa. I even bought products that had negative reviews, precisely because those bloggers clearly explained why they didn't like them, reasons that didn't apply to me (eg texture, smell, etc.). And there is also the category of "firecracker" products, which are absolutely horrible, without the right to appeal: dry inks, unpigmented and dusty make-up, etc.
Of the bloggers outside, I like Fleur de Force the most in terms of reviews, precisely because it writes for better or worse. I don't see why a brand could be dissatisfied with the fact that I didn't like a product, as long as the article brings the necessary arguments. Kiss!
After an initial period of probing several brands, I came to the conclusion that it makes no sense to subject my own skin to various experiments; as such I test what I think suits me, the negative things being, therefore, very rare. I also agree that a beauty blog should work peacefully!
How I love to come to you and read you! I really like it and I have something to learn from you and I want to thank you for this opportunity! And that you are open!
I agree with you and I like that you wrote so beautifully… as you usually do! 🙂
Congratulations!
Thank you Loredana, thank you very much! You don't know how much I can enjoy your message, you really made my day more beautiful! I kiss you and I wish you much success!
