I believe that one of the biggest problems of our times is the lack of food education. I admit, I wasn't too preoccupied with this subject until a few years ago, but as I learn I discover how many mistakes I used to make. And these mistakes continue to have an important impact on my health.
For example, before I went and did a six-month nutrition course, I didn't know what macronutrients (carbohydrates, lipids and proteins) were and what role they played in my body's functioning. I told you about rule 4, 3, 2 which I respected (and still respect) in the first part of my weight loss process which guided me in building #MeselorIoanei. What does rule 4, 3, 2 entail? In the morning my meal was composed of 4 types of nutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates and extra fiber), at noon only 3 (protein, carbohydrates and fiber), and in the evening only 2 (protein and fiber).
What are fibers?
Fiber is a category of carbohydrates that come from plants.
Fiber has a digestive role and is found in a lot of foods, from fruits and salads to vegetables and grains. Fiber offers the great advantage of making you feel full faster, which helps you control how much you eat.
Fibers are of two types: soluble fiber and insoluble fiber.
Insoluble fibers they remain undigested and pass almost unchanged through the digestive tract, thus helping mechanically to maintain a normal intestinal transit. Foods high in insoluble fiber include whole grains, cabbage, beets, carrots, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, turnips and apple peel.
Soluble fibers (dissolves in water and gastrointestinal fluids) are used as nutrients by good bacteria in the intestines and can help maintain a normal intestinal flora, which is important for good digestion.
Guar gum fiber helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. They also increase the frequency of stools, relieve the symptoms of constipation.
A source of soluble fiber
I recently started taking it Optifiber from Nestle, a product that contains 100% soluble fiber and helps regulate intestinal transit. This product contains only soluble fibers obtained from guar grains which may have a prebiotic effect.
Known as the botanical name Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba, guar is a shrub that reaches up to 2 meters in height. In the areas where it grows, guar is used both for its leaves, but especially for berries, which are rich in fiber.
Thanks to the high power of liquid absorption and its property to turn into a natural lubricant, guar guarantees the movement of feces and their release.
How to take Optifibre?
Optifibre contains 100% partially hydrolyzed guar gum, dissolves completely in both cold and hot liquids (drinks, soups, sauces) or in soft foods (yogurt, mashed potatoes, mashed apples), without affecting the consistency and taste them. The addressability of the product is very high because it can be taken by pregnant women, children over three years old, adults and the elderly.
In the first three days I took a measure of OptiFibre dissolved in a glass of water and results began to be seen, so I continued with 1 measure a day.
It is recommended to administer OptiFibre gradually, starting with 1 measure per day (or ½ in children under 11 years of age). If necessary, increase consumption gradually, with one measure every 3 days, without exceeding the maximum recommended daily dose of 5 measures per day.
Do you want to try it?
If I made you curious, you can also test the new Nestle Optifibre because I want to offer through a contest 5 prizes consisting of an OptiFibre box and an infuser bottle.
