When I started My Body Journey I knew I had to give up many of my culinary pleasures, especially the sweet ones. And I assumed. But practice is a little harder than theory, and much harder than I imagined anyway.
In addition to sweet juices, fried foods and snacks of any kind, I also had to give up just about anything that contains sugar. Quite difficult in times when almost any food has added sugar.
I don't want to complain, because moderate sugar consumption has major benefits for the body, but there are times when I want something sweeter than an apple, a kiwi or a protein bar. I searched a lot, but I found the healthy alternative to jams made in the fall by my grandparents.
St. Dalfour produces jams without added sugar, according to an old World War II recipe when sugar was expensive and available only in rations. So the sugar traditionally used in jam has been replaced with fruit sugar (concentrated juice).
I've already tasted a few assortments (not all, yet!) And was glad I was able to diversify my breakfast or snacks at the office. For example, now I add a tablespoon of jam St. Dalfour Wild BlueBerry in the stars of diet cheese and already the snack has another flavor!
The important thing is to be creative, try to find healthy alternatives for your culinary pleasures and do not overdo it.
