In August, it will be four years since I wear eyelash extensions. In these four years I took short breaks, but not because I needed to or because I ran out of eyelashes (as I hear a lot of women complain), but because I either had a back problem (in 2015), or I had a make-up project where I had to use mascara, or I went to the makeup course in London. In either case, the motivation had nothing to do with the condition of my eyelashes.

Raluca Popescu is the stylist I go to regularly to put on my eyelash extensions. She was the trainer of Xtreme Lashes Romania for many years, and from her hands came many stylists who today practice in the field. You know I like to have the best services, so from the beginning I chose the best brand of extensions and the best stylist. And the choice turned out to be really the best because in almost four years I did not encounter any problems: I did not have allergies, my eyelashes did not fall out, I did not have any discomfort and I always had the most beautiful types of custom design and the most admired extensions. I'm not exaggerating, I'm very satisfied and that's why I haven't had the curiosity to go to another stylist so far.

As a general tip, when deciding to put on eyelash extensions, it is very important to ask the stylist you are going to go to:

• how much the service costs - if it is too cheap it means that it uses poor quality products and that it does not master the technique very well.
• what brands it uses - Personally, I would avoid Russian / Moldovan brands (but it is only a personal recommendation).
• how long it takes to apply a new set - must not last more than one and a half hours, maximum two for the 1D and 2D technique. If it takes longer, you are dealing with a beginner or a not very skilled stylist.
• how often you have to retouch - if he tells you that you can go retouching after 4-6 weeks, run away eating the earth. In a few months you will run out of eyelashes for sure. The technique is wrong and means that you apply the extension on your eyelid. The extension should be glued on the natural eyelash at maturity at a distance of 1-2 mm from the root. The extension will fall with the natural eyelash that regenerates every 29-32 days. That's why no extensions are applied to the chicken eyelashes. But Raluca explains this better in the video below.
